Club: Otford Youth
|
Two players in this team have been playing football at
Otford Youth for nine seasons and a further seven players
have been together for six seasons.
On 26 April we won the Tandridge Trophy beating Seymour
Villa 4-2 at the ground of Whylefeafe FC.
Our commiserations go to Tony, their Manager, and the boys
of Seymour Villa who will doubtless have wanted to win this
just as much as we did and certainly had us under pressure
for much of the second half.
Most of all though our thanks go to all of the squad for
their hard work and committment and to the families and
friends for providing such vocal support.
Our goal scorers were Michael Watts, Michael Carrington and
two for Joshua Satterley at the end.
After the disappointment of our 2-1 defeat to The Warren
[which means we can no longer finish runners-up], the boys
responded well in training and returned from Warlingham on
22 April 07 with a 3-2 victory over Croydon Postal. We
followed this with a 5-1 win over Spitfire Colts Blues. If
we win our final game of the seaon away to Timebridge then
we will finish third in our Division.
Which will be a good end result considering we started the
season with four defeats. From 22 October to 1 April the
team had nine consecutive league victories; a record for
this team.
From 22 October we have lost a total of three games in 21
games covering League, Trophy and Shield.
