OTFORD YOUTH FOOTBALL

INTRODUCTION
We have provided youth football in the Otford, Kemsing and
Sevenoaks areas of Kent for 26 years. We are affiliated to
THE KENT COUNTY FA and are founding members of the
TANDRIDGE JUNIOR FOOTBALL LEAGUE.
CHARTER STANDARD CLUB
Otford Youth is delighted to advise you that we have
achieved the Charter Standard Club Award! Along with
Beechholme Colts we were one of the first clubs in the
Tandridge League to have received the award. We have been
joined by Addington Palace,Caterham Pumas, Chipstead and
Coney Hall and we look forward to others joining us. We are
the only Charter Standard Club in the Sevenoaks area.
Adam Crozier has said: " Clubs who become Charter Standard
will be taking part in a genuine grass roots revolution."
Jamie Redknapp has said: " For the first time, Parents will
know who the best club is in their local area to coach
their children."
In 98/99 the club was awarded the inaugural Club
Sportsmanship Award chosen from all of the clubs in the
league. We pride our club in combining success in leagues
and competitions with a reputation for good sportsmanship.
In 98/99 our Under 12's were semi-finalists in the
Tandridge Shield and our Under 17's were runners up in
their league and winners of the Tandridge Shield
competition.
In 99/2000 our Under 11's and 13's both finished runners up
in their leagues and our Under 13's also won the Tandridge
Trophy competition.
In 2000/2001 our Under 11's finished runners up in South
Division and were semi-finalists in the Trophy. Our Under
8's and Under 14's won the sportsmanship awards for their
leagues.
In 2001/2002 our Under 11's finished third in South
Division and our Under 15's and 16's won the sportsmanship
awards for their leagues.
In 2002/200 we will run five teams at the age groups of
Under 10's, 12's, 13's, 14's and 16's.
Our club incorporates Otford Girls FC who have two teams in
the Kent Girls League. We are proud to have girls football
within our club as it is an expanding area of the game.
Otford Youth is an FA Charter Standard Club
and has a Constitution and a set of Codes of Conduct. Most
of our Managers and Coaches have at least obtained the FA
Junior Team Managers Award. A number are members of the FA
Coaches Association. We have a child protection policy
which has been signed by all Managers and Coaches and a
Chid Protection Designated Officer.
The colours of Otford Youth are Amber and Black.
RECENT NEWS FROM OTFORD YOUTH
FOOTBALL CLUB
KIT FOR KOSOVO
A few weeks back we were approached by a footballing friend
of one of our referees/parents, Neil Winstone, to see if we
had any unrequired playing kit and boots that could be sent
out to the village where he, Kyle, is serving in the
forces. A couple of sets of amber/black kit were sent out
along with some boots. These have been distributed to two
teams one of whom entered a tournament and came fifth. We
hope to get more feedback and a photo in due course.
HELLO TO OUR FOOTBALLING FRIENDS
IN KOSOVO
This is our message which we hope will be seen by our teams
in Kosovo. We hope you are finding our kit useful and that
it brings you good luck. We would love to hear more of the
names of your teams or to receive a photograph. What is the
town or village where you come from? How old are you?
With best wishes, OTFORD YOUTH FC

WHERE IS OTFORD?
OTFORD - KENT VILLAGE OF THE YEAR
FOR 2002
We are delighted to tell you that Otford was this years
winner in the Kent Village of the Year competition. When
your fixture is over, have a stroll down our picturesque
main street, visit one of our numerous pubs, including The
Woodman [the unofficial committee rooom of OYFC] or see the
famous ducks on our pond.
Otford is in the Darent valley in Kent with views of the
North Downs. Otford was first
settled 2000 years ago by the Romans. It is well known for
its duck pond which is
reputed to be the only area of water to be classified as a
listed building! Nearby are
the palaces of the Archbishop of Canterbury in which Becket
once lived.
Otford lies within the triangle formed by the M25, M26 and
M20 motorways on the A225
which heads northwards out of Sevenoaks from the Bat and
Ball junction on the A25.
Otford is convenient both to the M25 and the A21 coming
from London.
